The Goddess of the Sea, Ashera, Is Not Mentioned in the Mythological Texts.
The goddess ash tarte is mentioned 46 times in the egridic text, but appears relatively rarely in the mythological texts. In the second millennium was worshiped from Asia Minor to Mesopotamia. The term as start or ash tarte and its plural ash toreth is not the same lemma though as ushera and its plural ushering. All references in the Old Testament, whether to goddess or to the cult object, whichever it turns out to be, are uniformly antagonistic.
