The Origins of the New Osteoderms

The two new osteoderms came from the same area of James Ross Island where Antarctica Pelta was found. The key features that they used to assign the osteoderms to a notosaurid were that the core is highly vascularized, meaning lots of blood vessels. In Titanosaurs, like I said, they might have used that as an ability to occasionally take calcium from the osteoderm.
