The Lord's Supper and the Tribute Offerings
The lord's supper can be a means of precipitating the judgment upon spiritual adultery. In worship, we are performing a sort of jealousy ritual. The divine testimony with all its blessings and curses is declared to us. And then, in conjunction with the memorializing tribute offering, the testimony is taken inside of us to discern our faithfulness. While all spiritual adulterers call for the most bitter of consequences, a rich blessing is given to those who are depending on it.
