Japan has a national building code and there's no variation across different regions. Once you understand the code, construction companies can operate anywhere in Japan without much problem. That helps construction companies to expand into other markets and grow as large companies. If other countries adopt Japanese model of housing supply, then I think that's good to resolve the current affordability problems in many countries.
