Sir Max Hastings: It's never easy to decide where the patriotic root lies. 22,000 Americans died under the Nixon presidency and I'm countless Vietnamese. If you go to Vietnam today, if you said to an American in about 66, how would you like Saigon to look in 2018? Well, actually, it would be pretty much the way it looks now. They all want to be Americans because they realize that the American system is worth this countless more valuable than their own wretched government.
