They include strikes by assembly workers at john deer, nurses at mercy hospital in buffalo and saint vincent's and worcester. And we should note the large non strike activities, such as the victory of the united steel workers in a 35 hundred person representation election for faculty at the university of pittsburg. So jonah, does it make sense to call what's happening now a strike wave? Why or why not?Jones: In the late nineteenth century, strikes spread like wildfire along the rail lines, pulling entire cities onto picket lines - leading to episodes of insurrectionary violence
