Trading Mean Reversion as a Disciplined Trader
A lot of the things that we look at from a discretionary standpoint focus on trend continuation. We don't do much with discretionary trading in terms of mean reversion. And my experience for better or worse, I think that that is an approach that needs a more systematic approach because what you're doing when you're trading mean reversion is pretty counterintuitive. So I can tease out a back test that will show you an edge, but it's a smaller edge than you will realize trading as a discretionary trader.
