I think about this idea of fluidity of thought, right? Like imagine that you're trying to do calculus but you have to look up the definition of derivative every time. Not all ideas are like that but some are. I also just wanted to point out that even with the memory thing you need to know that there's something worth looking up and that actually is not necessarily obvious in all cases. There's so much of what we're talking about depends a great deal on the cost of memory.
