The Negative Image of Utopian Thinking

There's no positive image of the utopia, he says. Negative thinking is by virtue of its own internal concepts positive oriented toward and comprehending a future which is contained in the present. In this containment, which is an important aspect of the general containment policy pursued by the established societies, the future appears as possible liberation. The advent of a long period of civilized barbarism with or without the nuclear destruction is equally contained in the past. All we have to do is focus on enlarging freedom and use critical theory to cut down on anything that constrains it. That's what Mark Kuzis says we have to be liberated to get to.
