How to Deliver a Short Story Fast
A story doesn't have to be a big huge thing, right? So I was talking to my writing students about overusing adjectives and adverbs. And you don't really need to. If you read a writer like James Baldwin, I showed them a sentence that he wrote. It was 157 words and only six of them were adjectives or adverbs but it was incredibly descriptive. This is the story I told them to explain that. But hopefully you've got a picture in your mind now of an overstuffed sofa that you don't want to sit on.
