The Battle of Québec - A Memoir of a Soldier
Colonel Arnold was one of the main voices urging an invasion of canada. He had his eyes set on leading the assault, but congress placed a wealthy landover philip skuyler in charge instead. In august he met with the continental army's new commander, general george washington, and convinced him to let him lead a separate expedition for an assault on quebec city. His tough resolve during the main trick also won him general washington's pect washington wrote that it was fresh proof of arnold's ability and perseverance in the midst of difficulties.
