Capitalism and Democracy Go Well Together
I think there is a natural tendency to assume that the world in which they live is solid and stable. But unfortunately, history does not bear out that view. Things don't necessarily last as people have known them. So I try to tell people that just because Britain has been democratic and stable for a very, very long time, doesn't guarantee it will continue to be so. And those of us in Western democracies and in democratic capitalism need to understand what we're doing wrong if we're going to survive and prosper.
