The Link Between Wittgenstein and McIntyre
Schneider: There are virtue ethicists. Alistair McIntyre stands out as one. He's like the big backer of virtue ethics or the big name in sort of reinvigorating virtue ethics. The link is this rejection of the is-ought distinction. That ought has lost its force, he says. And so if we get behind it in the way that Wittgenstein would want us to, it falls apart.
