For indigenous peoples, the legacy of the oregon trail is dispossession and being separated from homelands. The pawny people were forcibly removed to oklahoma but couldn't get their corn to grow in a different environment. For generations, they just, you know, kept those seeds. They passed tem down from generation to generation. And now, um, like families have brought those seeds out again in the last, like, ten, 20 years for replanting them in nebraska.
