My uncle had been rescued when he when his boat on BT 109 was cut into by a Japanese destroyer in the middle of the night off the southern island. And they were in a canoe a dugout and my uncle carved the his coordinates with two Solomon Islanders who risked their own lives to get that coconut for him.
