The British Economy's Semi-Independent Relationship With China

London's position as a financial centre was seen as the particular way in which Britain could exploit the China's position in the world economy. I don't think it's right to think that Britain was as badly hurt by the US-China trade war as Germany was. The turn in Washington meant that people in London had to start thinking in national security terms about Britain's relationship economically with China. But at the same time, you have British politicians, including Suna himself, who's saying, look, we must face the problem of the British economy's semi-conductor dependency upon Taiwan.
