Xenophon leads a detachment to occupy some high ground ahead of the enemy. They get to this point where they either have to cross a very wide, deep river or face a forbidding mountain range. In the midst of their perplexity, a Rhodian came to them and said he would set you across the river with 4,000 hoplites at a time.
