The Importance of Being Yourself
I feel like Kesha's really being herself. I've been thinking a lot about these women who spoke out in the wake of me to who were not completely hurt and Kesha is one of those women. And looking at those women I think we have a much more complex and realistic view of where we're at around abuse around the marginalization of certain people. To me the value of this record is not that she's speaking her truth but that she is speaking as much as she can and it ends up being fractured, fragmented, falling apart. That is to me what makes this record compelling.
