The Politics of American Evangelicals

After the Civil War, a lot of white southern evangelicals held on to this self justifying approach saying black people should be slaves because they're inferior. And that just, that was a very, very powerful moment in American history where the church could have turned to the Bible and read it. But they failed. I think we have our own original sin. It's not slavery. It's turning from God. And we all have remaining sin in us. Yeah. Well, anything we're really experiencing too is politics.
