A Problem From Hell, American the Age of Genocide, by Samantha Power

Samantha Power: I was hoping we could, by way of explaining what happened over 100 years ago, have you talked about your own family's experience in that genocide? And so just I suppose to start, can you tell me a little bit about your family, your family's history in the region? Well, sure. My family has largely lived in Western Armenia, historically, which is modern-day Turkey for hundreds and at least 800 years. But as waves of different governments came and different forces took over this land, the Ottoman Empire was what was established into the 20th century.
