Arthur kesler, who wrote the novel, was disillusioned by stolen i's. He has at least officially been an atheist for for his whole life. And yet, this religious language keeps cropping up more and more. So as the book goes on, a verse from scripture, an allusion to crucifixion,. sayri and then at the end, very strange oceanic feeling.
