David Perry: I just finished reading a book called Managing the Professional Service Firm by David Maester. It was published in 1993, so 30 years ago. And he explicitly talks about the impending talent shortage and how to deal with it. He says one of the strategies is hiring non-traditional candidates who don't really want careers but can be hired at lesser cost than traditional professionals. The big forward is able to hire mostly my entire math class, Chick-fil-A families and free happy hours, which are less expensive than 110k per year for new hire.
