The Perverse Outcome of Regulations
There was both a desire to improve financial regulations, but also to kind of tie the hands of regulators so that they couldn't engage in these bailouts that were politically distasteful. So could they have done more to really stop this two months ago? I mean, it's a question of, again, you may have had to go to Congress and it's hard to get them to do something when banks are involved.
