The Importance of Peak Output
The goal on each stride is peak output, not average output. And I think that heavily depends on caliber of athlete, too. If you focused on power, you'd be doing strides at 345 miles pace,. But I feel like doing that once or twice a week, you're risking injury. It's so much biomechanical output. You're also probably recruiting some of your faster muscle fibers, too.
