The Importance of Data in Translation
The data was developed by the National Institute for Communication Technology and for Information and Communication Technology in Japan. And basically what they did was say translated a whole bunch of articles from Wikipedia about Kyoto, actually the place where I did my PhD at Kyoto University. So it shows that the algorithms that I used during my PhD are probably more or less useless now but the data I created is still being used. Maybe that's a lesson to the PhD students to focus on data a little bit also.
