Creating Authentic Cases in the Medical School
Katie: One of the things that we do in order to make sure that we have authentic representation in our curriculum is engage with community organizations or people with lived experience who come in and tell their story. Callum: I'm trying to bring it in in a way that normalizes queerness in our curriculum so that yeah okay there will be times when we we see patterns but also times when those patterns are irrelevant and actually dangerous. Katie: When I went to sexual health clinics as a student all of our curriculum taught that LGBTQ plus people HIV gonorrhea you know all this kind of stuff.
