The Iambic Pentameter Stress Pattern in English
Iambic Pentameter meter blends perfectly with the normal rhythm of English. Marlow often referred to people in places from Greek and Latin literature, much more so than Shakespeare did in later years. He would occasionally break up the monotonous rhythm of the lines by including an action verb at the front of the line.
