What's a Line Producer?

There really isn't a clear definition of what the different producers do. What I learned a long time ago as an associate producer is the only one who will associate with the producer. There's a real lockstep that has to happen between myself and the assistant director, which is great when it works and it's awful when it doesn't. It's all sort of a negotiation early on. Your relationship with the AD because I know the AD and you work very closely together. The sergeant major of the set is the assistant director who is responsible for keeping the pace going and keeping the shooting going.
