The Fat-Tailed Dwarf Lemur's Long Life

Fat-tailed dwarf lemurs have a unique ability in the primate world to hibernate, so they can actually go into sort of a suspended animation for half the year. Their body temperature just rises and falls, exactly matching the outside temperature, almost like a cold blooded animal. This is something that you're suggesting is a kind of a comparative process from which we might be able to learn by studying the lemurs more. There's a lot to be learned on the genetics of hibernation that we have not even started to touch yet.
