Why Is the Price of Gold So Low?
Gold's actual value as a metal is tiny. It's almost all this monetary premium, which is a bunch of nonsense. But one of the reasons that gold will have a higher value than other commodities is because gold is eternal. Gold can be used and re used over and over again. And so its price is going to reflect that. The markets are underestimating future inflation. So right now you have a very benign outlook about inflation. Even though it's picked up recently, investors expect the fedd it back in and inflation to come down.
