There weren't really expectations placed on me. The only expectation that i had placed on myself was to always play well, under whatever the circumstances. Did you ever question your ability? No. I think what distinguished me in what i wanted to focus on more than anything was the writing. And ultimately, developing my own voice as a writer in an instrumental context is, that's the hardest thing to do. It didn't hit me till later, where i thought, ok, i really, i really sound like me, even though it's just one guitar playing.
