"It activated this kind of part of my heart that is like in the back corner that hasn't been activated. Long dormant," he says. "What struck me about this was, this is a character who obviously was very beloved to my youth." The movie worked for jaded LA kids as well: "My dad on his way home said it was better than 'The Godfather' It's rare for something like that to happen where someone is just as beloved three decades ago as they are today".
