The Network Effect Is a Platform Business Model
CNN's John Sutter takes a look at the assets that make up platforms. He asks who controls users, participation and data? And then there's usually a network effect, right? Well, let's say it's the youtube example. Ah, you could argue that the platform business model still controls the viewers, because they've created the service. But what about content creators? They are probably not loading their vidios up into youtube any more.
