The Supreme Court's Upholding of the Limit on Contributions
The Supreme Court said in Citizens United that the contribution to a candidate is so large as to create a risk of quid pro quo corruption. If you're not exceeding Congress's presumptive amount, then there's no risk according to Congress that there's quid Pro Quo corruption with that candidate. But it accepts the same reasoning and says we're doing nothing more than articulating what Chief Justice Roberts has said. The biggest problem that I had was I thought, and I'm glad that you've set the record straight on this, that you were going to restrict that individual's ability to contribute money. You've moved the needle for me twice.
