The Culture of Launching at Google
Eric Schmidt says Google's culture of launching products is to blame for the death of Stadia. He says experienced and ambitious engineers leave projects shortly after launch because there is no promo food to get anymore. The people that remain are those that cannot easily transfer teams, i.e. inexperienced or sometimes just poor engineers. "No one ever gets promoted for maintaining or fixing something broken," he says.
