The Effects of Social Isolation on Health

Dr. Zana Clay is associate professor in the Department of Psychology at Durham University and it's really the primary form of social content that they have. A good hug is fundamentally important to us as a social species and has featured heavily in our evolutionary journey for millions of years but we are finding ever more expansive ways to communicate using touch. The pandemic fast-tracked our use of new technologies and saw us developing more three-dimensional relationships online but it's also part of a bigger sea of change around exploring digital intimacy and remote touch. For mum and me technological advancements have really changed the ways we're able to communicate.
