"The Beatles grew up in the 50s. That's, you know, that was the youth culture in revolt," he says. "Rock became this explosion of music, which was hated by virtually everybody and hated by adults" The industry itself is singles driven, with a factory churning out 45 singles played on 45 RPM,. He adds: "For the most part, youth music is seen as not artistic."
