Tuvallu is an island country home to less than 12,000 people. It has a GDP per capita of $63.1 million - half the global average. Sea levels have been increasing by 3.9mm per year for decades. This means large tracts of land are going to become uninhabitable as they periodically get flooded by water from the ocean. The islands and the country itself will need to be abandoned.
