San Francisco Was Never the Driver of Technology - It Was Just an Odd Duck Pair
20 years ago, San Francisco was like a super optimistic place. It was very focused on the future. Today it just seems a lot like you walk there. People seem more unhappy. How did that happen? Well, I think part of the mystery is explained by San Francisco was never the driver of technology. The Bay Area in the South Bay really drove technology from 1954 to 2010. And so I think San Francisco was kind of an odd fit in the technology landscape anyway.
