Are You Being Nice, but Not Being Kind?

I think there's a stereotype that New Yorkers aren't very nice to your face, but like mean well. And the culture is more like, hey, let's bond over what we are complaining about. So it's a reaction to people being nice is what you're saying. I guess they were kind of like a little bit proto undertake guys kind of. But yeah, there's so many of these guys.
