Lyndon LaRouche was born in a far right Quaker family. He rebelled against his upbringing by becoming a Marxist. After World War II he joined the Socialist Workers Party, which is the main Trotskyist party in the US. But he ends up being an ego maniac and split from the SWP after falling out of love with its authoritarian central committee.
