Jordan Ben-Ghiat: There's a lot more psychopaths out there than you probably realized. He says the number one culprit for that kind of belief or misapprehension is the media. In some professions, such as medicine and finance, people need to be able to compartmentalize in order to do their job well, he says.Ben-Ghiats: If you have all the smarts but no empathy, you're not going to be a great surgeon. But if you lack narcissism, you won't get top legal jobs like lawyer or doctor.
