Designing a House or a Kettle?

Design is always a response to a brief which is a set of requirements. So for any given object whether it's a house or you know he uses the example of a kettle. He thinks it's reducible to a set of explicit like axiomatic things that it must do or not do. To do a design you kind of have to one of the problems is knowing which of those requirements is contingent on which of those other requirements.
