Is China Trying to Overtake the United States?

Many democrats and republicans are convinced that china has global imperial ambition. The way the regime is going is very bad from my standpoint, both from a civil liberty standpoint and also from an economic standpoint. They've been trying to spread their fluence in recent years with is belt and road initiative. But they're mostly not working out very well from their standpoint. So i think basically they if i get influenced, it's probably not goig to make much difference one way or another.
