In the Old Testament, we have a recognition of life after death. Those who are with God will go to everlasting life; those without God won't get that. Every one of us is choosing heaven or hell at any given moment. The stories of powerful in so many cases, powerful men who have abused their power by using their power is just it's overwhelming.
