Lieutenant General Jack Shanahan recently retired from the United States Air Force after a 36-year military career. His final assignment was as the inaugural director of the U.S. DOD, Department of Defense, the Joint Artificial Intelligence Center or JACEC. He established and led the DOD's Pathfinder AI Fielding Program, charged with bringing AI capabilities to intelligence collection and analysis.
