The Power of Symbols

The way in which you're being integrated together onto the music is crucial. And then what happens, of course, is that aspects of the music are disclosed to you. You see things that you haven't seen before. That changes and alters how you can then understand and listen to the music. In this sense, symbols are deeply ecstatic. We get our word ecstasy from this, but what this literally means is a symbol helps you to stand beyond yourself.
