Optimism Is Cowardice
When you say optimism is cowardice, optimism as in bad things will never happen. All of life's a gift, but it's also that all has an expiration date. I had a friend who was again, 87. He died and his daughter, his oldest daughter got control of his Facebook account somehow. She said, my dad has died and he died of COVID. When you die, 87, you're dead. If I died, 87, if my children listen to this, that's unlikely. Don't do an autopsy. We're in the ninth decade. It's the bonus round. There's a point where it doesn't matter.
