11 kids are sucked in after witnessing a schoolyard scuffle. Some of them are held overnight, some for two days. Others are released. A series of lawsuits pulled this policy apart and realized that the way they were processing children was illegal.
For 11 years, a Tennessee judge sent kids to jail for a crime that doesn’t exist. Nashville Public Radio’s Meribah Knight explains why that judge is still in charge of “juvenile justice.”
