i grew up in a very fancy and syphy house od my mam's bookshelves were deeply nirty. When i was done with grad school at 24, i started being like, 'I really liked writing' And so i wrote some short stories. I used them as practice for trying to write a novel. One of those short stories kind of went around twitter a little bit, and i got a message from an editor being like, h you don't happen to have a novel, do you?
